These plastic can lids are amazing! We use them to make cold coffee. They work well for that purpose...no leaks...easy to pour, good to see contents etc. We only have one issue with them...the plastic hinges behind the flip top lid don't flip out of the way. Why is this a problem? Well, we found out the hard way that when the plastic is cold (probably straight out of the fridge) the flip top lid tends to come loose when you try to open it. This has happened to 2 of our 4 capsules...even if we try to be careful. Hinged lids close so well (well) that they cannot be opened. Therefore, you tend to push or pull harder. When the latch finally opens, your moving hand tends to push it back...as if you're laying it flat to pour. So the cold (brittle?) lid flies back... is pressed with the hand or thumb... hits the solid hinge... and... clicks!... now you have a lid that opens easily can solve. With the remaining two covers, we solved the problem by trimming the (unnecessary?) hinges flush with side cutters. so the caps can now fold back onto the lid without resistance. This problem can be solved by a very small change in shape.
