Review on Effortless Wine Enjoyment: True Blue Twister Self-Pull Corkscrews by Rob Dixon

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Wrong color received, no way to speak to seller, it's Revain

For many years we had an inexpensive self-opening corkscrew that worked like a jewel. It is similar to Le Creuset but not a famous brand. Even after we bought and used a battery-powered, rechargeable wine opener, my husband and I continued to use a manual one. My mother told me that she and my father did the same. They used to be readily available at BBB, Marshalls, Ross, online, etc. For some reason, everywhere I looked there were very few of these available for purchase, and the next few were quite expensive. I tried a new plastic metal bunny I bought off eBay - the cheapest piece of crap I've ever laid my hands on! He only squeaked to put pressure on him. It will surely break in no time. Returned. I ended up ordering this one in blue, bright blue. Instead I got dark pink. Ridiculously ugly color for a corkscrew, but not usually seen. I wanted to contact the seller because I received the wrong color and was able to receive the color I ordered or at least a neutral color. It seems there is no way to contact him regarding this as the seller is Revain. The only choice is to keep or return. I ended up holding onto it out of frustration while searching. Having used it a few times we don't like it compared to what we had because this one doesn't grab the corkscrew while you pull the metal back out of the cork. Not the end of the world. Also, don't like the shape and feel of the top opening compared to the Le Crueset type.

Pros
  • SIMPLY REMOVE PLUG! NO PULLING NEEDED - Simply twist the ergonomic chrome handle and this corkscrew does the rest. Simply twist to insert the corkscrew into your wine bottle and twist again to remove the cork.
Cons
  • A Few Mistakes
