Review on KNIPEX 13 72 Forged Stripper by Eric Webb

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nothing beats them for finishing or replacing pullers.

I don't often write reviews. I always feel like it, but I think someone else probably said what I wanted to say, or I'm busy and forget. However, they deserve a mention. I have pliers. Klein and Knipex. From each of them you get an excellent linesman. Thing is, I still don't know what they are for. They twist the wire perfectly, but don't strip it. They cut some wire, but there are often problems with larger stranded wire. After 10-3 it is very tedious to cut/insert the cable there. They're good for light hammering (to be honest) and cutting small cables. It really is like that. There's a reason hybrid pliers have exploded in the last 5 years. South Wire offers pliers that cut better than any linesman, Romex cases for stripes and stripes 14 and 12. Klein has some fantastic hybrids, notably a gray and black linesman mix. Not to mention a few 18-10 hybrids. Milwaukee and Ideal also have new offerings. It's not the 1940s now, and the original linesmen just don't solve all the problems these new proposals solve. Pulling, cutting heavy cable/conductors (even if multiple cuts are required, zip ties, demolition hammer, etc.) Hybrid pliers Screwdriver Razor This will detach anything you throw. Why do I like these hybrids? 10 and very sharp Cuts romex and feeder lines easier than any lineman Thin and light Nose is wide for twisting but thin to get into hard to reach places After you strip them, hold them slightly closed, slide the lead into this groove and it will become perfect width for 14 and 12 stitches strip length is quick and easy the auxiliary spring does not interfere, is not visible and cannot be broken the thumb latch breaks perfectly but the real hidden surprise is the 6-32 and 8- 32 Screwdrivers No more screwing in and out, no more screws. No more taking out your flat, phillips or hole punch to screw it in and out all the way. Simply insert, cut out, done. The tool is much faster and easier. I don't know how to do it without having to clean/rethread the threads with the old hand unscrewing method, but it works fine. Imagine coating a workpiece in seconds instead of minutes. with a flat head or for drilling in the housing. too light and fit dependent to be used this way. The shearing/cutting area is a few centimeters from the beginning of the tool. You need to open them further and guide the tool or cable to the cutting surface; more than on dams or linesmen. If I were being rude, I would use the Klein hybrid linesman. When you're done, it couldn't be better.

Pros
  • Locating combs - easy to find stripping holes with one of the locating tabs
Cons
  • Almost never
