Review on ๐Ÿ”ง GREBSTK Vanadium Stainless Woodworking Tools by Mandela Buycks

Revainrating 3 out of 5

These are real metal chisels

I don't think I would recommend them. I have about 4 hours to fix it and still have a long way to go. All the chamfers do not line up with the sides of the bit. Your chisel will wander as it cuts and you cannot sharpen it with any tool. I believe they have been machined and not sanded in any way. The main bevels seem to be at a 30 degree angle which is why people say they hold the blade decently. You will never slide over wood as easily as you should with this one. They need to be 25 degrees, which takes time to grind. The back isn't flat either and will require a bit of sanding. According to the description they are made of chrome vanadium stainless steel. This metal does not exist. It's either chrome vanadium or stainless steel. Stainless steel is softer and can't be as hard, so they never hold edges well. After all, they are chisels, look "fancy" and are cheap. I suspect weekend warriors buy them (myself included), but you're better off picking up a cheap set from a big store.

Pros
  • Easy to assemble
Cons
  • Available in black only
