If you need a big spoon than yes, you can use it. But if you are hoping to use this as a ladle and get inside a large jar to scoop the inside liquid you won't be able to use it as it is straight and it has no curvature to allow you to scoop the liquid. I am makeing fermented wheat bran and I was hoping to scoop the liquid form a5 l jar using this ladle but since the handle is straight it won't work any better than a regular spoon. Otherwise seems ok but not for my needs.
