Review on 🎣 Gitzo G2020 Hook: High-Quality Accessory for 1 and 2 Series Tripods by Tara Greene

My old Series 2 Gitzo G201 Reporter needed a counter balance for stability when panning video. So I bought a Gitzo G2020 hook and it fits like a glove and screws into a 3/8" socket at the bottom of the center rail. The hook is spring loaded and retracts when not in use. I hung a wine bag filled with stones. Hook up and my old G201 was as stable as it gets. However, I was a bit disappointed with the G2020's build quality: lightweight plastic body, plastic threads, and a very modest metal hook. I was expecting a metal body and a stronger hook, so I'll let you know if the hook goes wrong. In hindsight, I could have saved a few bucks and added a 3/8" bolt with a D-ring or hook. The G2020 hook fits and works perfectly though, but for my taste it's a bit of an easy job.
