First of all it was very nice to get a few emails from the seller asking how we like it! I live off reviews, so here's mine. We LOVE the leash. We hung about 5 and I think it really comes down to which one fits right. We have a doubledoodle (a golden and labradoodle mix) and she is a big girl but with her hair down she is smaller now and has a lot more dexterity with all her down and she is only 1 year old and still growing out of her. puppy trails! We have several standard lines that are about 5 feet long. We live on the 3rd floor so we walk her up and down the stairs constantly throughout the day, it just required more wiggle room on the leash. She will stop at every landing, but being shorter than my boyfriend I just couldn't handle the feeling that she was pulling me even if she was doing the right thing. So this leash helped a lot to solve this problem. It also allows us the right amount of space. Retractable lines are the most dangerous things in my opinion. I had 2 situations with them that turned out not to be very good. Firstly, as a baby, Molly would run up to a disabled person and would have knocked them out, the leash wouldn't go back, I grabbed him and he immediately burned my skin. The second time it just wouldn't snap in and out and we ended up on the street. So we knew we needed a good, strong leash that wouldn't gnaw at the pup, that gave the huge dog enough room to run, but also knew when he needed to be with us. My FAVORITE part of this leash is the handles. First of all, they are both sooooooooo nicely filled! I hold onto them with all my might (haha) because Molly is so big, they're my security to keep her away from any car or anything that's coming our way (Molly was attacked by a dog out of nowhere so it's important so I feel like I'm holding it well). And my part of my favorite is the short strap. When someone walks out their door, when we're walking down the stairs, or when we're outside or approaching an unfriendly dog, it's SO great to just tug and hold on to the first strap rather than untying the leash around my wrist for a million or so touches , that just slipped out of me. In addition, it's very durable, thick, my dog will turn and chew when he's really playful, but there's nothing a leash can't handle! This is the best leash! My only recommendation is that if you have a smaller dog than the small pony we have, I would go for a 5-6 foot pony that has enough room. 8 feet is perfect for large dogs that need extra space!
