There's a lot of room for improvement, but it works reliably enough for a kid mode.

This is the best wifi baby monitor I have ever used because it stays connected. However, it is flawed, lacks many of the basic features that the dxr-8 kids optic has, and is a poor product in general. I've tried Nanite and 1st Security with a dedicated audio device, and neither of them stayed connected all night (making them utterly useless as baby monitors). In general, this system should not be considered unless the long time that WiFi provides is needed. Pros: - Good value for money - Reliable connectivity - Dedicated parent unit when you don't want to use your phone/tablet - Various mounting options - Good video and audio quality. Unlimited range as it works over WiFi. With a mesh network, you can easily expand your WiFi coverage. If you don't have Wi-Fi coverage, you can use the app and your mobile data connection. Cons: - No audio display on parent unit - No sound in split screen mode or automatic camera function on proprietary unit - Camera movement is irritating and laggy. The screen does not turn off with sound in the application. You have to sign in to the app every time you want to use it. If the camera loses connection, it puts you in split-screen mode. Since there is no sound in split screen mode, when you reconnect you get video but no sound. They rotate randomly and beep when they lose and reconnect.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Security
