I've never given any thought to power strips other than whether they have surge protection and how much they cost. Turns out I had to as one of my plastic extension cords overheated and caught fire. Luckily I was in the same room at the time, otherwise it would have ended badly. Not really sure why that happened, it had a UL rating but it really doesn't matter. The lesson I learned was to ditch the plastic and replace them with metal splinters that are less likely to have problems. Intelligence. It's important to note that it's durable, made of metal (particularly aluminum), with surge protection (up to 300J), and a strong 6ft cord. Only time will tell how well it will hold up, but with solid form, fit and functionality I'm sure it will perform great.
