Well-made power strips and surge protectors

This thing has some weight as it's made out of aluminum and not the plastic you see most these days. Although in fairness this is reflected in the price. I use it behind my fireplace on the TV wall. I have a TV, an HDMI switch and a DVD player. While they don't use a lot of energy, they do a great job with what I put on them. Over time, a soundbar will appear in it. For the installation I attached it to a 1x4 piece to give it extra integrity on the wall. Again, this is a heavy strip, and…

If it was only sold as an extension I'd probably give it 5 stars. It wouldn't be ideal given its basic design and lack of features like USB ports, but it can handle 1800W, has sockets that face outwards rather than downwards, which tends to make it a bit easier to actually use all the available slots . Mounting holes on the back, doesn't have a large plug so it won't block a second outlet on the wall, and has a durable aluminum body. In general I like this extension. However, it is not only…

Great value for money and looks great!

Aesthetically pleasing, well-made power strip with surge protection - just right for use in the workplace or at the workbench. Conveniently located outlets are ideal for "wall outlets," but this power strip is compact enough for a desktop computer. Very good quality for the price, not just a rectangular metal box like most.

Cabinet, solid build, some surge protection

We got this as an extension cord for my wife's office. She has too many devices to plug into the only outlet next to her desk. As an extension it is perfect. The strip is on her desk and her cord is plugged into an outlet. The band is metal and strong. With a power of 1800 watts, this strip can be used with a powerful microwave oven or other appliances. Six power outlets are plentiful, and the on/off button on the bar is an added convenience. I have many other extension cords: all plastic. I'm…

Perfect for my workspace

I needed a new corner desk for my office but once it was in place my previous setup, a box plugged into an outlet, was blocked. I needed the stripe option and found this one and it looked perfect. Mainly because of the other reviewers who have more experience with this type of product. I could say it was a great research product and I was also happy to see how much better it is to get a metal product. The reason I ordered my last set was because I intuitively felt I needed it as my intuition…

Rugged design, works as intended

I've never given any thought to power strips other than whether they have surge protection and how much they cost. Turns out I had to as one of my plastic extension cords overheated and caught fire. Luckily I was in the same room at the time, otherwise it would have ended badly. Not really sure why that happened, it had a UL rating but it really doesn't matter. The lesson I learned was to ditch the plastic and replace them with metal splinters that are less likely to have problems…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • Almost everything there

When I looked at the 1800W Metal 6 Outlet Power Strip I immediately thought of all the commercial signage, awards and labeling shows I've attended over the years. When we worked at the Fortune 500, we always had a pretty nice exhibit at the booth. And I always used heavy-duty extension cords in our electrical boxes. Unlike the plastic extensions you see on the market, metal is your only option when you need a strong strip that can take a beating. There's another problem with extension cords…
