This thing has some weight as it's made out of aluminum and not the plastic you see most these days. Although in fairness this is reflected in the price. I use it behind my fireplace on the TV wall. I have a TV, an HDMI switch and a DVD player. While they don't use a lot of energy, they do a great job with what I put on them. Over time, a soundbar will appear in it. For the installation I attached it to a 1x4 piece to give it extra integrity on the wall. Again, this is a heavy strip, and installing it in drywall alone isn't effective. Luckily I haven't had to test it as a surge protector yet, but with no end in sight to the storm season I might get a chance. Even if it's just an extension, I'm happy with it. All in all thumbs up.
