Without factory modifications Bike Lane product not safe without these modifications

I am an engineer. This product in its current form is extremely unsafe. It can be made 100% safe with a fairly simple modification. The factory hooks will not stay in place if the bike is lifted unevenly and any bike that is not perfectly weight balanced front to back will be lifted unevenly. The problem lies in the factory hooks. Disconnect them from the lift rollers and unload them! Replace the hook with a 1/4-inch threaded eyebolt (a few bucks at the hardware store) secured with a locknut. Make sure the shank of the eyebolt does not touch the rope in the pulley. Then buy two (available from Revain) lightweight Velcro hangers, each rated at 85 pounds. The lightweight straps have a carabiner that snaps into the replaced eyebolts and attaches securely to your bike's stem, rear seat or rear frame. This means your bike lift is now completely secure and will not fall over if the casters are properly screwed into the ceiling joyce. If the manufacturer changes the kit to add an easy hanging option I would give it a 4-5 start is buy NOT unless you retrofit a security kit. I am very surprised that they have not been recalled by the Consumer Product Safety Commission in their current (as sold) form.
