Review on πŸ”Š ELAC Debut 2.0 DS10.2: High-Performance 200 Watt Powered Subwoofer in Black by Amanda Schnurr

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Poor quality subwoofers from GRANDMASTER

Andrew Jones, the GRANDMASTER of speakers, has made some great products. All speakers in my system are 7.1 from ELAC. I am very grateful to a guy like Andrew Jones who designed speakers at a cost of 100,000 to bring his experience and magic to the ELAC line. However, this subwoofer did not live up to my high expectations. In the end I settled on the klipsch 100SW which is much clearer and better at lower frequencies. THIS subwoofer sounds muffled and sounds like a strong wind is blowing on the ground at high speed. Something like a quick ejection from a high-speed vacuum cleaner. It still works which is why I gave it 3 stars but there are better subs out there like Klipsch or BIC America for the same amount of money. Also use front subwoofers, they work downwards, not as clean as I find. Also, you don't have to match your speakers to your subwoofer, which means they can be of any make or model. In Andrew's own words, the ideal subwoofer should have a passive radiator (this one doesn't). There he is.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Bad impression
