I bought this item because the new truck didn't have a factory installed oversized transmission cooler. Wanted to be active when you have to tow the van over the mountains in hot weather. Thick aluminum brackets had to be mounted in the area between the radiator and the radiator grille, due to the significant free area it was possible to mount quite far below the surface of the radiator. Used relay and thermostat on line. The fan seems to offer a sufficient cooling rate and surface area, but cannot justify the efficiency as it is a drop time. The quality seems pretty good, large cooling surface and cheaper than many others.
