Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ Sanwa EM7000 FET Tester - Genuine Analog Multimeter by Sanwa by Dusty Oner

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good little electricity meter

I bought this meter through Revain and Ace Japan because I wanted to make sure I was getting a genuine Sanwa meter from Japan and not a fake one from China. or India. You have to be a little careful since they are there. It was delivered in about 10 days, well packaged, direct from Japan by registered mail. I had to go to the post office to pick it up, no problem. I haven't used it much yet, but it seems to be very well made. It has all the features it was purchased for as described. This is a FET multimeter that uses a differential FET amplifier to drive the meter's movement, resulting in a very high input impedance, unlike a standard analog meter. It has a power switch that must be turned on for the meter to work, and unlike traditional meters that make voltage and current measurements without internal batteries, this meter requires batteries to operate. It would be nice if Revain could stock a Sanwa case for this gauge or buy it from Japanese retailers. After careful sizing I bought a Fluke C35 case for it. The gauge fits the test leads on the side fairly snugly, although I cut out an internal strap that couldn't be used with this gauge. The test leads are fine, but it would be nice if they came with alligator clips. Not enough of an issue to knock it off its five star rating. All in all a very good little counter.
