This mini air conditioner is very compact, lightweight and easy to carry. It is ideal for desks or even a small office. In extreme temperatures you have to change the ice very often because it is not insulated like a cool box. In the immediate vicinity, the air is very cool! The air conditioner works like this: you open the compartment that contains the battery, pull out the filter, fill it with water and ice to fill the line. The filter slowly absorbs cold water and blows out cold air. It's not really super loud, more of a soothing noise. I highly recommend it if you are not trying to completely increase your light bill because of a little corner in your room lol.
