Bidirectional Fluid Extractor

Much more useful than I expected. It comes with multiple hoses and you can use your own for more specific applications. I tested this to inflate a basketball (needle not included) and it was able to provide good pressure with no leaks. The kit also includes a small blower attachment that you can use to blow dust off your computer keyboard or other places where you don't need a lot of airflow to remove dust and small particles. My main reason for getting this was as brake fluid. extractor. I tested it with DOT 3 brake fluid, which is pretty nasty, but it worked well and I was able to remove all the oil contaminated fluid from the master cylinder reservoir before adding new fluid and flushing the brakes. Worked well and could also easily be used to remove gear oil, engine oil, water and other liquids. I'll probably only use this one for siphoning, I'll probably buy a second one when I need to pump in new fluids so there's no contamination. The hand pump is easy to use and the design is very simple: one end creates a vacuum and the other creates pressure. The included hoses are suitable for withdrawing or injecting most liquids, and because it's a hand pump there are no batteries to wear out or electrical wires to connect. Overall quality is pretty good, all plastic but seems sturdy enough for occasional use in my garage at home for basic car maintenance. Very easy to use, reliable and comes with a good set of accessories. I've had no problems with it and always keep it in my mechanic's toolbox for when I need to easily drain a small amount of fluid. You can use it for engine oil, but it takes a while to pump out a few quarts or more of oil and there are better extractors for that.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
