Review on 🌬️ Attain Ultimate Comfort with FRIGIDAIRE FGRC1044T1: 10000 BTU Cool Connect Smart Window AC with Wifi Control by Boondo Viswanathan

There are two main reasons I am disappointed and regretful about this purchase: As many have said, the WiFi connection is a complete disaster! I thought it was just a group of people without much experience connecting to smart devices, but no, this really is the worst system you've ever seen. We (both programmers) spend hours setting it up and in the end it only worked for one of us. Even after it "works," getting it to work with Google Home is another slap in the face. Once you've set it up, you can control it by issuing a long command like "Hey Google, ask Frigidaire to set the A/C temp to 72". Google will (as always) answer with one voice, but then it has to call the Frigidaire app, which also feels the need to talk to you and repeat the same thing. So even if everything works, it takes about 10 seconds after you say "Hey Google" for the device to respond. Second, the device arrived damaged in four different places. (see photos). This has nothing to do with improper handling of the UPS - the device was already damaged before it was packed, as the packing material and box are in perfect condition! Another damage I couldn't even get a picture of was that two "wings" that let you adjust the direction of the air outlet popped out of their little plastic holes and dangled in an area you can't easily reach be able. It took a pair of needle nose pliers and a chopstick, plus another fifteen minutes of my time to reset the blades. I only give two stars for the looks of the device. But as far as build quality, elementary quality control/factory quality control goes, and a crap app for a smartphone, I'd put a big fat zero! A few days ago I had to purchase an additional bedroom unit and chose the more expensive GE model. (I don't mean the rating on Revain; I mean the rating on a legitimate review forum, namely Consumer Reports). By the way, I have other great Frigidaire products. It's a shame they really lost the ball here.
