The scissors in this set were very good, heavy and pleasant to the touch, the blades are dense and sharp. You always stand next to the sewing machine. The scissors leave a lot to be desired. The handle of the scissors has no padding and after only a few minutes of use, it starts to really bite into the back of the thumb and the spaces between the fingers. The blades have a wide gap between them and frankly don't cut fabric that well. I assume the large gap (pictured) is part of the reason. I'm ambidextrous but I prefer left handed for most things. They are not left-handed, but I still tend to be right-handed. I'm constantly looking for great fabric scissors without breaking the bank.
