Much better than our internet company's modem. Many functions! Featured!

Purchased as a basic modem/router kit for the Windstream service. It works MUCH better than the Windstream modem. With this you can have two simultaneous bands, but I still haven't figured it out - we do run one though and it's pretty fast internet for our area, faster than our service before we bought it and set it up. We have a laptop, 3 phones, two kindles, an xbox, a tablet and a printer all connected to wifi on this router all the time and it's still working great. Sometimes it crashes, but this may be due to our service and not the modem/router. We've only had to reset it twice in the time we've owned it since we bought it about 9 months ago. I go to school online at home and this gives me reliable internet service with DSL at home even though all the other systems and electronics work and I rarely worry about it getting stuck. The modem has several functions and has its own characteristics. own website for installing and configuring the modem and services. It also comes with a genie app on your computer that you can use to make adjustments if needed or request service or technical support. The design of the router/modem is simple, just a couple of switches on the front, one on/off switch. and a "WLAN" connection switch. In addition, there are 2 USB ports, including one for storage, and 5 Ethernet ports. The slim vertical design makes it easy to place against a wall or closet without taking up much space. NETGEAR also offered 90 days of technical support, which they could extend for an additional fee and a 1-year hardware warranty. Overall, I'm very happy with this modem/router combo and the internet service I've had since switching to this device.
