This is the perfect stool for my sit/stand workstation. I sit at my desk 8 hours a day. I'm used to sitting in a regular high-back office chair and then switching between sitting and standing with an adjustable desk. All of my old office chairs wobbled slightly where the chair touched the stem. I've always hated it. But this stool has a strong connection between the seat and the shaft. It intentionally rotates fully at the base, right where you want it to allow you to move around and "active sit". - The seat cushion is very firm and supportive; it's thick and strong enough that I don't feel the support underneath - Assembly is very easy: NO TOOLS :) - Ready to use in 1-2 minutes - Base is heavy and won't slide on carpet - Transforms into a base, which for me is smooth and natural (this is my first stool with a swivel base). I catch myself moving my hips while I work. Rotation around the seat is also incredibly smooth. When my kids visit me in my home office, I turn to see what they need. This is funny. The height adjustment works great; Now I can use the stool while seated and also when my desk is much higher so my legs are at a different angle. It really helps reduce fatigue.
