Recently purchased a ceiling fan? Unfortunately, the well-intentioned law led to disaster. Base for candlesticks! Originally conceived as a way to save energy in the incandescent age, you're now struggling to find a CFL and LED chandelier base! I say this as a very important preamble: do not buy these if you plan to use incandescent or halogen bulbs. I use them with standard LED base lights without dimmers. I don't know how they react to dimmable LED bulbs. So as you have read in other reviews you have seen that these adapters increase the length of the lamps. Does the lamp look ugly? May be. On my bedroom fan, the bulbs only protrude slightly from the edges of the spheres, and they actually look pretty nice. The living room and dining room fans were cheaper fans bought from a popular discount store. The spheres are shorter and simpler, so the entire illuminated part of the LED bulb protrudes, creating a pop-eye effect. Given that another popular style of ceiling fan lighting is a heavily tinted plastic case or shell that doesn't emit much light regardless of the type of bulb installed, I'm willing to live with bug eyes. Four equivalent 40-watt LEDs draw around 25 watts together when all on, but really brightens up the room. I've tried candelabra LEDs before - one was quite expensive and I use it in my hallway lighting. Despite the claimed "warm glow," it was very blue in color. I think I tried buying cheap ones from China - apart from being concerned about the finish of the lamp, the light was bright green. It does not fit. So this was my last ditch effort to use my tried and true regular sized warm light LEDs. I've been wearing these adapters for about three months, sometimes all day (new build/moving). There was no flickering, no smoldering, no sparking, no burning out. In other words, when using LED bulbs and lights without dimming, I had absolutely no problems. I highly recommend this product!
