Review on ๐Ÿ  CoolCoat Roof Coating - 1 Gallon, White: Dicor RP-IRC-1 for Effective Roof Protection by Eugene Cox

Revainrating 5 out of 5

To update. Mostly satisfied

I hired my son for this job. I wanted to cover the roof to extend its life and stop the chalk streaks on the fifth wheel. I spent 3 hours wrapping it in plastic as recommended by the manufacturer. Then step 1 done carefully to avoid splashing, then scrubbed and rinsed for about 1/2 hour. Waited for drying, didn't take long at 74ยฐ and sunlight. Then apply 2 thin layers in steps of 2 with sufficient drying time in between. Looked really good and felt good at the time to make sure it was done right. After 2 weeks I check the roof, 90% looks great. That 10% that didn't look like we trapped air under the covers? Could I move the small sections down so they weren't glued? Then there were three areas where my boot broke an air pocket to reveal the original roof. I was surprised how easy it was to tear. Happy with most of the roof, just disappointed that I had to urgently patch exposed areas with RV tape. To update. Sooo over a month later I go up on the roof of my van to put the vent covers on. I was so disappointed to see the cover had tears in several places! What the hell! I'm really questioning the product now. Most are still in good condition but now I have to buy another gallon to fix any cracked spots. At all the time and expense, I wish I hadn't covered my roof! There is also no way to get a refund. Update #2: I contacted Dicor customer service and explained my problem with Cool Coat cracking. They were quick to respond and let me know I had made the layers thin. I was really shocked and pleased that they resupplied me with the correct amount of gallons and also shipped the activator (part 1) for free. Thanks to Dicor customer service for correcting my situation even if I accidentally made it thin.
