I don't know when coasters got so expensive but I was glad to see a six pack with holder for $10. Of course, the price warns: do they really absorb water, does the design fade, and how durable are they? Surprisingly, they are absorbent. I've gone through many coasters that were basically just tiles that had water on them, but they actually soaked up the water. It's been about two months now and the design looks just as good as when I received them. They are very durable for everyday use. My problem is that sometimes my mug sticks to the coaster and when I pick it up the coaster follows a few inches and then falls off. If he falls on the table everything is fine, but if he falls on the floor. For ten dollars it is amazing and doesn't require much investment. If I paid $30 for it I'd be disappointed, but it's a great deal, especially with the holder.
