Review on Conair Mini Super Smoothing Brush: Optimal On-The-Go Styling Solution by Denise Francis

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Don't believe negative reviews.

Judging by the negative reviews I wasn't expecting much from these I bought for the trip but I'm completely satisfied with them. Maybe it's because I've been using hot rollers since they first became available in the 70's, but I don't see anything wrong with them. This is the smallest set I have ever seen, exactly what I wanted. I only chose four stars because I would prefer a set with all the "giant" reels and I really only need six or seven. I suppose the little ones will come in handy when I get my next haircut. To answer common complaints, curlers don't need to be hot for your hand to work. The first time I used them I let them warm up for about ten minutes and they just felt warm. I put them in anyway, thinking I could always let them heat longer if they weren't working. They worked well and gave me great, bouncy, long-lasting curls, although they weren't hot enough to make my ears sing like other sets I've had. with white lace) *obviously* there are three different sizes. If you use the wrong size curler clip, it will either fly across the room or the curler will fall out of your hair. Start with the biggest reels and biggest clips and you'll be fine. I should have ignored the negative reviews and not bought the Conair super clamps because they weren't needed. The wire clamps work perfectly. Lay them out from under the roller and move them against the direction of the curl, with the rounded end close to your scalp and the open end (curled end up) sticking up. I actually prefer wire clips because the big clips in my regular set always leave curls in my hair. Wire clamps never fit. For the record, my hair is shoulder length and fine, like a baby's, and there's a lot of it. I haven't had any problems with "curly ends" at all. To sum up, they're small, well constructed, perfect for travel (double the voltage even!), they do the job, they don't burn. Your ears, and for Maud's sake, they only cost $11.58! You would pay more for a premium martini.
