Review on 🔧 Effortless External and Internal Pulling with OTC 465 5-Ton 'GripLock' Puller by Wayne Ohlrogge

If this puller was listed as 5" reach I would give it 5 stars. However, when the jacking screw is fully backed out and placed on the end of the shaft, the jaws cannot grip the bearing just 6 inches from it. So don't take that for anything over 5 inches. I'm not sure if pullers are measured that way, but apparently they measure "reach" as the length of the handle when removed from the puller, not the working distance. This is very misleading. My book and OTC website can clear this up so you get the right tool for the job. The puller itself is very well made and for this reason I will keep the puller. I used it for another application and it was wonderful. So if you're buying a puller, I can recommend OTC, but only if you can get a puller with about 2 inches more "reach" than you actually need. I gave 3 stars as a compromise between 5 star quality and 1 star. misleading properties.
