Review on Waterfall Commercial Bathroom Lavatory by Bathfinesse by Alfredo Testerman

Not ready for prime time

My wife selected these very attractive waterfall faucets (vintage fountain pump) to complement her decor and I installed them. These faucets are fairly durable and appear to be well made from cast bronze machined to match the valve and hose parts. The valve levers work smoothly and control the water flow well. The intake hoses look good too. They come with an inlet gasket/shield that seals the hose to the house's water supply valves. They work, but are also easy to connect. The included printed guide recommends removing and cleaning the screens when the water flow stops, which both did after around 3 weeks of use. To remove for cleaning one must crawl under the sink, close the supply valves, disconnect the inlet fittings to access the mesh/gaskets located at the ends of the inlet hose. INDEED! Imagine doing this every few weeks when they connect! Single lever faucets have been available in the United States for at least 60 years, and most manufacturers have installed "aerators" with screens at the faucet outlet that trap sediment contained in the plumbing and are easy to remove, clean, and reuse for the life of the faucet. Not so with these faucets. There is an exhaust screen that is difficult to remove for cleaning. My solution to clogged inlet filters would be to install in-line filter screens of about half a pint per line, resulting in a one to two year cleaning interval. It seems to me that a Chinese manufacturer might want to incorporate a better solution into the design of the crane. Cars used to be started manually, then Kettering introduced the electric starter. This is the improvement required for these cranes. We love the look of these faucets, and they cost around $55 each, which is a pretty good price compared to well-known American brands. And even they cannot be an improvement unless they are better designed. Finally, thanks to Revain Prime, I was able to replace both broken faucets. One had a leaking inlet hose, the other had a cross-threaded stem on the retractable connector (supplied with faucet). In general, these taps are a good return, but they can come with a headache. Much luck!
