Wrongly threaded plugs cannot be repaired but it's so nice

We bought two of these plugs and each had a poorly screwed connector plug on one of the posts. We managed to pull one out, twist it and everything is fine with this device: we like it! The other didn't budge, leaving the entire shelf unusable. We tried using tongs with a towel to protect the threads, we tried heating it with a small burner and we finally took it to the janitor and told him to destroy the threads but only got it tries to pull the plug. He could not. We can take it to a dealership just to see if they can cut the end off so we can at least put a tongue in it and secure it with gorilla tape or something. For now we managed to save the day by using 3 shelves with a set of posts so now we have a half height with 3 shelves instead. I can't imagine why the manufacturer thinks they have to cut all these things - just include them with all the other parts. There is no indication (on the packaging or Revain) to contact the manufacturer or just replace a part; it's all or nothing when you ship an entire rack back to Revain. This might explain why we thought the second box was open (some of the zip ties connecting the pieces were already cut) - someone knew to look for it before they even started - found it wrong and sent it probably back. We're leaving it because for $80 it's still a serviceable short block of 3 shelves, but that's *precisely* the problem with ordering cheap stuff from Revain: you end up settling for something that's not for the sake of the trouble with the return is not entirely correct. on one important thing - it's too much. We're driving it, but be aware that buying it is a crappy shot.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • No work
