I hooked up - well, at least to the 12 volt mark. I am restoring a classic pony car and wanted to add a dash cam. The camera unit plugs into an auxiliary cigarette lighter socket, but I didn't want to use the in-dash port as a camera plug would ruin the spirit of this mid-'60s car. So I ordered this 12v socket with built in fuse holder. 14 gauge wire is just over 6 feet long. I attached the wiring harness behind the dash to hide it from view. This item contains a 20A and 25A moisture-proof fuse. A power connector cover is attached to prevent dust or dirt from entering when not in use. Good luck on your next automotive project.
