I wanted tire levers (3, steel, plated) and a spoke wrench (round, slotted for mixed spoke sizes), and I liked that it also included a valve core removal tool (for some reason). about eight of them, not just one.) I didn't realize it included a portable bike multi-tool (hex wrench, screwdriver, socket, spoke tool, no chain tool) because it wasn't in the picture, but I do have the same tool and use it on secondary bikes. (It's heavier than the fancy $20-30 models from Crank Bros etc.) At the same time I bought some plastic tire levers - and they cost the same as the whole set. My main problem (come on, feel sorry for me) is that I'm on a business trip and I have to lug all these goodies home. I recommend this set primarily for home use and not for taking with you on trips. The valve core removal tool is mostly only used if you have tubeless tires to easily add tire sealant without breaking the bead, i.e. sealing the tire to the rim. If you are just starting out on your bike, this kit will give you the ability to change tubes and tires, adjust the seat and components, and perform emergency repairs, excluding chain repairs, and rebuild your rims. A NOTICE. Sockets on the bolts and nuts of the multi-tool - the tools are not included. These will be custom fitted to your bike if you don't have quick release wheels or a cheap (old fashioned) seat post. This multi-tool is therefore actually preferable to the more expensive ones for low-cost bikes. Second note: There is no chain tool on this multi-tool. So get a "Quick Link" or "Magic Link" for your chain that will allow you to break your chain without a chain tool. Most replacement chains these days come with it.
