Review on Universal Luggage Lockable Anti Theft CX 5 2017 2018 by John Pound

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great price and good response from OXRUN (the seller) to a minor hardware issue

These luggage racks match the factory roof rails on my 2019 Mazda CX-5 perfectly. There are many good reviews about these shelves, so I'd like to point out a few points that might be useful to potential future buyers. As shown in one of my pictures, there is an adjustment slot on the underside of one of the end pieces of each crossbar that allows you to adjust the width of the crossbar for easy installation. Simply make the crossbar slightly shorter (about 1/2 inch) to mount it on top of the car, "stretch" the end of the crossbar to fit the roof rails, and then use a hex wrench . Wrench to tighten the two set screws (the screws are on the underside of the crossbar when it is in place) to secure it properly. Broad. The second point I would like to point out is that these crossbars come with rubber spacers that run between the crossbars and the roof rails; The seal can be seen in my photos. Third, I used my own tools to install the crossbars and the tools I used were a socket wrench with an extension and a torx bit to install the hardware. Final point, like many reviewers, the supplied bolts were very flimsy and I snapped one of the bolts connecting the crossbars to the roof rails. I contacted the OXRUN seller and about two weeks later they sent me a whole new set of mounting screws. The screws that came with the uprights were silver and the replacement screws are black so I will be replacing all eight mounting screws with black screws since the factory rails use black screws. If you take your time and over-tighten the fasteners, these roof rails are a great deal. Also thanks to OXRUN's professional response to my little problem, I give this product all five stars.
