I was originally given this remedy to kill the remaining bed bugs in my house, but since then I've used it for pretty much everything. It's portable, so it can get to many places, and it has multiple attachments for shaking on different surfaces. So far I've used it on stone, grout, carpet, and furniture (originally to kill bed bugs that may be in furniture, but now I use it to clean furniture). I've used it fabric wise on a leather chair, rug, microfiber daybed and bed mattress and it resulted in a clean smell (or rather no smell) and didn't damage any of the materials. It might be small enough to use for clothing as well, but I haven't tried it yet. It's fully wired. So if you're trying to get to a place that you can't reach with a cable, you can try heating it up. Then disable it to move it to where you need it. But it's exhausting, and the fever subsides quickly. I've personally used it on some sort of carpet where the cat had urinated (phew!), was trying to evaporate it from under the padding underneath, and where the cord didn't reach. There was a lot of back and forth. In this case, you should use an extension cord, if you have one. When closing the top, it took me a second to realize that if you close it and then push the top and twist it until it closes, it closes and locks. Sticks (something like a jar of pills). Everything will work fine without this "lock", but it's probably safer if you know how to do it in advance. The water supply lasts longer than I thought. The tank is small because it's a handheld steamer, but I wasn't really expecting anything else. I was a complete chicken at first and didn't fill it all the way, but once I filled it all the way I was able to fill almost half the carpet in my bedroom (medium sized) (and the side of the bed and coffee table top) with one filling. The one I got looked like it had already been used and I bought a new one as far as I can remember so I wasn't thrilled with it but I tried it to make sure it worked and kept it on end (because it actually worked). It's worth it. If you're hesitant about going for this and one of the larger sizes, don't worry about effectiveness as it works very well, but consider the versatility of these compared to some of the larger ones. This one lets you get in places the larger one can't (and it's cheaper), but it doesn't cover large areas at once, so be prepared to add some "elbow grease".
