Recently I was looking for a tool to burnish and burnish parts and restore my 33 year old 17 foot O'Day DaySailor II sailboat. I went to youtube to help me to find the best tools to get the job done. I seriously considered Makita's polishing tool because it comes highly recommended by other professionals. However, I didn't want to "burn" the paint on my fiberglass sailboat without knowing how to properly utilize the power of this type of buffer. Then I came across the Shurhold 3101 Dual Action Polisher. It has a random orbit to the polishing pad (no worries about fading), and Shurhold also provides all the extra bits I need to finish the job properly. 16 hours working time on my boat. Follow their directions, use Buff Magic Compound and Polish, the end results are amazing! Buff Magic Compound/Cleaner really exceeded my expectations and Shurhold Buff/Buffer is a real workhorse. Very well designed, powerful and durable. This is truly one of the best investments I have ever made that will enhance my sailing pleasure and I look forward to showing (and demonstrating) my DaySailor at boat launch.
