It's just an aesthetic issue. The backlighting on this panel is provided by nine bright LEDs that are easily visible, the OEM was side lit and had ambient lighting. These LEDs make it a bit difficult to read at night. Will i buy it again? Maybe - this panel definitely provides the functionality I need; However, I might take a closer look at other items to see if they match the aesthetic I was hoping for.
