Edited: Lately these bags are incredibly easy to tear. Double packing is a must and they usually only snap when they split the hole for you to put your hand in. Once the rupture occurs, the rupture opens without resistance and the sack collapses completely. Previous bags could hold a leaf or branch if you accidentally pick them up, but this new design absolutely couldn't. I would recommend looking elsewhere for biodegradable bags unless you want to live on the edge. First review: I've searched a long time to find true biodegradable bags on Revain that aren't just made out of plastic with some chemicals helping to degrade them. . They claim that they can be composted in industrial compost centers, so have a limited shelf life and are much more environmentally friendly. We haven't had any issues with the bags leaking and they seem to be quite durable. I wouldn't think the bags would be damaged if the litter sat in them for hours (they won't melt and disfigure for a reasonable amount of time). I had a package that was sealed on both ends so I had to rip it open to open it and even ripping it was quite difficult. I haven't sealed a package at both ends since then. Finally, I would definitely recommend them. They are much better suited to the environment the plastic bags were purchased in, they were well priced at the time of my purchase and their size allows them to fit in most standard dog bag holders.
