You must cut this key.
I was under the impression that I could just change my key but as this key is built into the case this is not possible. I took it to a locksmith and cut it up. It cost about $40; still cheaper than a new keychain from the dealer. I was able to easily pop my old key fob's "brains" in and didn't have to reprogram anything.
