I have used this epoxy both in and out of the water to build some small boulders and then attach them to my existing rock structure in my established reef aquarium. It took some experimentation before it worked well/easily. Without water I used it in combination with superglue gel. The epoxy was pretty easy to use without water, and I could mix it up, apply it to the pieces of stone I wanted to attach, and then bond the pieces together firmly for a minute or two until the epoxy started to harden enough to hold on to itself . On some of the parts I applied gel super glue first to get the initial easy bond and then applied epoxy so I didn't have to hold the parts together while the epoxy cured (super glue did that part for me). Under water it was a bit more difficult at first. However, in the end I decided it was best to mix in a small bead of epoxy and wait 1-2 minutes for it to start curing before submerging it under water. If you dive underwater without time to set (1-2 minutes was enough for me) it's very difficult to work with and sticks to your fingers rather than the stone. However, when I first let it dry I found it very easy to work with underwater and found the stone held together quickly. I have not experienced any negative effects on my corals, fish or inversions (including my starfish). I mostly have LPS and softies with some SPS and none of them seemed to care what was in the tank. My Dendro actually jumped up when I inserted it. The skimmer goes really crazy and draws a lot of water. I used epoxy right before a water change and after a 10% change the skimmer was back to normal. I only gave 4 stars because I would still say I use super glue gel for small projects like attaching small pieces of coral. , it's much easier than using epoxy. However, for attaching larger, heavier objects with uneven surfaces (e.g. rocks), epoxy is definitely the way to go for a strong attachment that will last.
