To replace the standard cooler in the HP TG01-0023w, I needed something with a limited height. The 126mm tall CR1400 was quite short (attached images show a tight fit). In terms of cooling efficiency, this was a slight improvement over the standard. 1-2 degrees less while idling, but still climbed to 80 degrees or more under stress test load. Despite this, the temperature rose more gently with this cooler than with the standard. Part of the fault lies in the inability to set custom fan curves on this HP machine (at least as far as I can tell). Quiet enough for me, no louder than a case fan, almost silent at idle and a slight audible hum at full speed.
