Very accurate for testing, measuring and checking

UPDATE 7 years. This counter is still running. There was some downtime, about a year and a half, and the probe dried up. I was about to buy a new one but was told to soak it in a 7.0 solution for a day and then in a storage solution for two days. After that I calibrated it and after calibration it was off by 0.08. BIG METER. Setting up the meter can be very cumbersome. However, once installed it is extremely accurate. I tested the pH of several liquids at work and then tested the same liquids with a $400 lab meter at work. This thing was more accurate than me, although it would be. Make sure you take care of this counter the same way you would treat a $400 counter. YES, a storage solution is required to prevent the element from drying out. Yes, you have to calibrate it with a calibration solution, just like you would with a $400 meter. Don't expect this item to be accurate from the packaging. YOU MUST CALIBRATE IT like any other PH meter. If you don't want to take proper care of this meter, I recommend sticking with PH strips.
