First of all, I did NOT purchase this rug with any intention of using it for its intended purpose. I've never cooked with it. I've never cooked food on it. Dishwasher I bought this mat primarily to serve as a pet feeding mat and it has worked flawlessly for that. In the house I lived in when I first bought it, my pet's food was under the kitchen island with a metal counter in the middle. So I needed a rug that I could easily cut to fit the pillar to protect the floor underneath. I also needed something food grade so as not to harm my pet. Also, I needed something that was easy to clean. This product met all of those needs and worked so beautifully that when I moved in and no longer needed the cut rug I ordered a brand new one to replace it. I understand that this may not be useful for most people looking at this product, but based on my experience I'm not worried about its quality and I'm sure it will work well for its intended purpose.
