Causes A/C Freeze In Prius

That's a good price for a filter but I just discovered that charcoal was causing the air conditioning in my Prius to freeze. It then has to be turned off to thaw and freezes again within a short time after restarting. I was worried it was my air conditioner. I called my mechanic who specializes in Priya and the first thing he asked was if I use a charcoal cabin air filter. He said to replace it with a regular paper filter and what is the difference. So far no frost and the air temperature at the outlet of the deflectors is 55 degrees. To put it bluntly, this is a problem with every brand of cabin air filter that uses activated carbon.

Pros
  • Alright!
