Affordable Quality Tailgate Pillars We have a 2012 Kia Sorento LX 2WD 2.4L and these QiMox luggage racks are perfect for him. Easy to install! As soon as the rear is about ⅓ open, the struts are activated and the tailgate opens. They have great carrying capacity! The last hope - time will tell. Will update if they have an untimely death. These QiMox racks feel well built compared to the pair they replaced. The original Kia struts (P/N 81771-1U000) only lasted 4 years, the next pair of struts (purchased from Advanced Auto) lasted 6 years. They are really cheap! The lowest price we found for Kia luggage racks (part #81771-1U000) was $140 for a pair. Oh! Purchased in July 2022, these QiMox racks were cheaper than the pair we bought from Advanced Auto 6 years ago ($22.90 vs. $39.99). The same liftgate pillars in Advance Auto are now $50.98 per pair.
