This saved a life (and flooded the basement). Thank you for finding a 25 year old water filter bypass valve part. It's a bit pricey, but of course it's better than replacing the entire valve assembly. I would recommend cleaning the existing waterline (or whatever it's called) if you remove it. Mine was kind of funky. This is the plastic part that goes in the middle of this washer and attaches to the bypass handle. I lubricated practically every surface of the washer with plumber's silicone grease since almost every part of it is used as a sealing surface. I even greased the lock washers. Hopefully this seal will last as long as the original.
