Our belt dangled for several months (original belt) until it finally gave up. I thought I would have to donate an organ as I'm a Dyson but they are perfect. Changing the belt is also easy. At least that gave me a reason to cut off any trail wrapped around the brush and vacuum even where all the junk likes to collect near the motor/belt drive.
