About 8 months ago, I received several sets of watercolors and brushes from a relative who is very artistic and has a closet full of watercolor materials. She also directed me to some YouTube videos including one by Christy Rice. Christy makes me smile every time I look! When their brushes came out, I ordered a set. So as a beginner I've used some good brushes and some terrible brushes. I then used this. One morning I couldn't put my dagger brush down and played with it all the time. They capture the pigment well, and then release it evenly and gradually. So I paint a little bit of watercolor almost every day now, and these are my brushes. No, I have not bought or used expensive fashion brushes, so I cannot compare. But if you're just starting out, start with these.
