Review on ⚡ TII 212 Surge Protector for Broadband Cable and Satellite TV with Lightning Protection, 75 Ohm, 5-1500MHz by Dwayne Pore

Quick and easy project, does not affect the speed of Internet or TV, great security

I finally got around to installing this after sitting on my shelf for three years. The whole project took about 30 minutes. - I didn't know the cable company had the ground already installed, so it was just a matter of replacing their ground with this ground. - I tested the internet speed before and after (four tests before/four tests after) and it didn't change at all. The TV still works fine. Today it is displayed on the outer brick wall. Ordered the lid and clips today, looks like another quick project. Tools used: - I was able to reuse the existing ground wire. This required a Philips screwdriver. The bolts on the existing base were twice the length of those that came with this muffler so I reused them. Flat head screwdriver. This muffler is about 2 inches longer than the existing floor, which allows the cable to bend toward the service side. It required a power socket to unscrew the existing cable clamp, smooth out the slack, and then re-tighten the clamp. I don't know how effective it is yet. But I've spent a lot of time reading reviews from people who know more about it than I do. They assure me that this type of suppressor is MUCH more efficient than the MOV type that comes with my UPS. Between my modem, pfSense firewall/router, and WAP, I have about $600 worth of equipment daisy chained to this line. Not to mention the television. peace of mind. It costs $17. and 30 minutes! Really appreciate other reviews and people who took the time to answer questions.

Pros
  • The protection element is designed to reset after each power surge, the service life is up to 1500 power surges.
Cons
