I've found this stuff to be the gold standard for keeping a python! My redemption came with a tank of fresh eco-soil, which is made from coco coir. It's not necessarily harmful, but I felt sorry for him when they brought him a sip of eco-soil for dinner. He also rubbed his head on it once and I thought I'd have to intervene to clear his heat pits. Well, repchip has eliminated all those worries! It's very soft, but not so soft that it creates dust. I never worry about it getting stuck in my mouth or getting hot. Holds moisture very well! I can pour a cup or two of water directly on it and keep it moist for days. The only downside to this is that the liquid that is released from the potty is absorbed quickly and extensively. Not a big deal, just annoying to have to throw away so much when an incident happens. It perfectly hides the smell, but leaving a dirty substrate in the house is harmful. I will say that this pack (loose bag, not a pad) filled my 25 gallon med case well and has held up great as most of his potty incidents happen in his rock cave hideout so the Repchip stays pretty clean! My sweet boy may have earned his name (Kyle), but he's a pretty good guy. When it's time to change again, I'll know exactly what to order! Thank you for this excellent product!
