Expensive but worth it for me

This baby is expensive. As I can buy a clay bar and baby spray for half the price of this little sponge. For me it is worth the price. Finally got around to using it this weekend. Washed my wife's car this morning. The paint literally looked like sandpaper! She seems to have parked her car at work and they were building tennis courts nearby. Paint the whole car. It was so good you had to watch to see it. So I decided it was time to try the clay sponge. It's so hard to motivate yourself to do it this summer in Texas. Starting with the hood, which was the worst. Spent a few minutes on the test track, wiped off the detailing spray and wow! Smooth as one could wish for. After a third of the way through the hood, it "grips" rather than sliding over clean parts. I looked at the sponge and there were little rolls of clay on it. It's like pulling the inside of a sweatshirt. I remembered that they can be rinsed with water and there was my bucket of water for rinsing. I dipped it in water, rubbed the clay part a little, pulled it out and squeezed out the water. Like new. Cute! I did a bit more and ended up doing what I always do with clay: I dropped it on the floor. I would swear with clay. A quick rinse and spin and I'm back at it. Only downside: it seemed to take more passes to get the same effect than with sound. This is offset somewhat by the fact that you don't need to compress, bend and smooth like clay. It also feels better in the hand. In general very satisfied.
