Hasbro's Latest Line Designed to Impress

After a rather bleak past few years with Elite 2.0 and the proprietary Ultra Nightmare, Hasbro decided to double the number of unique ammo types with its latest Hyper line. A unique feature of this series is the small "Ball" ammo, which is about half the size of the RIVAL cartridges and is made of a stronger and slightly stickier material. The Hyper Rush-40 is their pilot product for the Hyper line, a larger pistol-style blaster with a built-in ammo pod and a striking blue/neon yellow scheme. The Rush-40 gets its name from its bunker. can hold up to 40 hyper projectiles. Note that despite this capacity, Hasbro only included 30 of the cartridges mentioned, which is disappointing and economical for such a well-known brand. In any case, the blaster uses a traditional glide charge (through the entire upper back) which is a bit harsh and can be difficult for nerfers under the age of 8. The blaster fires with an audible "pop!" and has amazing power and accuracy, making it a bit big again for young enthusiasts. Luckily, it has a mechanical fuse to prevent misfires. Despite its fantastic performance, power and accuracy, the Rush-40 suffers from a common problem across the Hyper line: poor ammo supply. The blaster relies on gravity to pull the small hyper rounds into the firing chamber, and often the hyper rounds will get stuck in the hopper or just not feed evenly, resulting in regular dry shots throughout gameplay. It's even worse in hot, humid weather, when the rather sticky hyper ammo gets even stickier. The cartridges themselves also interfere; Not only are they very small and bouncy, but they also get dirty pretty quickly, making them hard to spot. This leads to a lot of wasted ammo and can even be dangerous for small pets, not to mention possible garbage. So the Rush-40 is a solid blaster for its size with some impressive specs, but tends to get bogged down in the rather lackluster ammo it's loaded with. It's also very expensive for what it does; For the money I would prefer a pair of RIVAL Kronos or similar.
