Let me start by saying that computers are my hobby. That being said, I made the mistake of replacing a 1TB Intel Optane M.2 16GB HDD with a 1TB WD Black M.2 SSD. I didn't understand what Intel Optane was so I swapped it out one for one. My motherboard only has one M.2 key slot so I swapped two thinking it was fine. It didn't feel that good so I bought it after berating myself for my mistake and unfortunately for me it would have required a deeper dive. I decided that after cleaning the old hard drive and reinstalling Optane, buying was the best solution to keep both drives. I am now using a WD SSD via an AMPCOM M.2 M Key NVME SSD to PCI-e Adapter as the primary drive and the HDD as storage. It was pretty easy to put together following another reviewer's advice to use the images provided in this product listing. Now my only regret is that I didn't go down this route originally to avoid reinstalling my OS to get out of the BSOD boot loop. I would definitely buy it again to add another NVME SSD to my computer if needed.
